A couple of weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a beautiful beach elopement on Surfside Beach. It was one of those perfect, dreamy days where the sky blended seamlessly with the horizon, the waves whispered in rhythm with the breeze, and the sand felt like a soft, natural canvas for the couple’s love story to unfold. This intimate celebration reminded me why I love photographing elopements—they allow the true magic of a couple’s connection to shine.
Andrew & Jacqueline decided to say “I do” with their toes in the sand, surrounded only by the sounds of the sea and a handful of close friends. The beach itself was the ultimate backdrop; no elaborate decor was needed. They walked hand in hand to their ceremony spot and as they exchanged vows, the sun cast a warm glow, creating a soft, golden ambiance that was a photographer’s dream.
I focused on capturing those moments when the couple would steal glances, share smiles, or get lost in laughter. It’s these in-between moments that make beach elopements so unique. The spontaneity and simplicity allow for natural, effortless shots that reflect the true essence of the couple. One of my favorite shots was when they stole a kiss right in the middle of the ceremony.
Photographing beach elopements like this one at Surfside Beach reminds me why I love what I do. There’s something indescribably special about capturing two people in love, in a place that feels like it was made just for them. If you’re thinking of eloping or planning an intimate wedding, I’d be thrilled to help you capture the magic of your day.
